Certified Physician Assistant

Michelle Dumestre, a Louisiana native, graduated magna cum laude from Louisiana State University with a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and a minor in Biology. She then continued her education at LSU Health Shreveport where she obtained a Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree.

Michelle has over 6 years of experience in medical dermatology. She is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and is licensed by the Alabama Board of Medical Examiners.

Michelle is trained to evaluate, diagnose, and treat dermatologic conditions in patients of all ages, whether by medication management, reassurance, or procedure. She has a passion for patient education, ensuring each patient truly understands their diagnosis and treatment plan before leaving their appointment. Michelle has a special interest in acne, rosacea, rashes and benign, pre-cancerous and cancerous lesions.

Michelle, her husband, and their son are thrilled to be Birmingham residents. In her free time, she loves to hike, play tennis, travel, and spend time with family and friends.
